G.O.A.T. - Howard Stern (Stating The Obvious)

Image: Howard Stern

This should be obvious to everyone and it is definitely overstated, but like the music industry as we know it, terrestrial radio is on it's last legs. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. For radio, it always has been and always will be Howard Stern. Again, stating the obvious, he is the greatest of all time. Critics have always been around, and most recently they seem to be jumping on the isn't the show always the same after awhile? That's like saying you can get tired of watching Michael Jordan take flight. And just like Mike, there will come a day when it will be all over and we can only reminisce. Unfortunately, for those who haven't been following the show recently, Howard has continuously mentioned that he is going to call it quits in a year and a half. Now, he's said this before, but a feeling in my gut says that this time it's for real. Luckily for us though, there has been a tremendous collection of Howard's career in radio, The History Of Howard Stern chronicles every momentous event that Howard and the gang has blessed us with since Day 1. And if you're like me, and joined the party late (since Howard didn't go into syndication for awhile) or have just had an on-again/off-again relationship with the show, this is perfect for you. I love it cause you can also see how the greatness developed over time. Sort of like watching early 20's Michael Jackson dancing and music videos vs. mid to early 30's Michael (see Getdownnn TV in the sidebar if you haven't already for a comprehensive MJ tribute through video). We're talking to hours of greatness. And make sure to tune into the Stern show podcast or on Sirus, sad to see Takei leave again. F- ck Captain Kirk!!! F-ck Clear Channel!!!

Can You Feel It?

Shuffling through all my MJ music catalogue as well as swifting through youtube for interesting clips, I thought I'd share this classic performance of The Jacksons. This is classic in every sense of the word. A sped up tempo, MJ trying to steal the show (literally) from Randy, the dancing, the posturing, the torch...I won't ruin it for you, just watch and watch it many times.

The Original Bruno

Remember when Bruce Willis was Bruno? For those who don't know, there was a time period where Willis released albums under the alias of "Bruno." I found some pretty interesting "highlights".

{He looks like a cross between Kanye West and Miami Vice Don Johnson.}

{Kevin Smith's favorite}

{This is my favorite. A continuation of the previous commercial? I can't stop laughing when he looks at the camera.}

{With Sharon Stone}

I'm not sure if it'll be as funny, but the other Bruno drops today.

Cookin' Soul Pays Tribute To MJ

We've been diggin' the splendid Spaniards, Cookin' Soul, for quite some time now. It's good to see that they are finally getting some love now for their MJ Tribute mashup (50,000 downloads in 3 days & on MTV). Hopefully this will only lead to bigger and better things for CS.
